Our Beaver Colony…

Beavers is the perfect starting point for your child’s Scouting journey. Open to all children aged 6 to 8, it’s a welcoming, fun-filled space where young ones take their first steps toward independence, friendship, and adventure. Beavers meet in groups called Colonies, divided into smaller Lodges — giving every child a real sense of belonging from day one.

1st Stanmore Beaver colony meets on Fridays from 6pm to 7.15pm

Easily spotted in their iconic turquoise sweatshirts, Beavers get stuck into outdoor activities, games, arts and crafts — and most importantly, they make brilliant friends along the way. There’s a range of badges to work towards, culminating in the prestigious Chief Scout Bronze Award, giving your child something tangible to be proud of. But at its heart, Beavers is simply about having fun and loving every minute.

As a Beaver, your child will have the opportunity to spend nights away at camps and sleepovers. This gives a real sense of adventure and maybe the first time away from home.

There is a termly subs fee for attending section nights. This covers costs like activities, building use, insurance and more.

Scouting is all about #SkillsForLife. We prepare them for life with skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication and responsibility.
